Quick idea for you!

Okay I know a very simple card but I wanted to remind you or tell you that you can color those new rhinestones that Stampin' Up! (finally) carries with a Sharpie. No longer to worry about not having the right color. Love it! I used a blue Sharpie for these rhinestones on this card. I just did a quick card to show you how fun it is.
Oh, and I tried black and mine just came out an odd purple color. Have fun finding different Sharpie colors.......

Wedding Day!

Our neighbors daughter Katelyn was married yesterday and beings we were all dressed up, I thought it was the perfect time for a family photo. Love it! The wedding was beautiful and her colors were black and red so this is the card I made for the happy couple.

This card is CASE'd from 'cmb268' on Splitcoast. I changed the supplies a little and I love how it turned out. The saying is from an old Stampin Up set called Ever After.
I got a little slack at the SU regional this weekend about updating my blog. Sorry it took me so long ladies (sometimes I feel like I am talking to myself on here).......

Invitations and Cheer Clinic

These are CASED from Nichole Heady's card that she made last month for the Papertrey release. I wanted to make my mom some birthday party invitations so when I saw Nichole's card I knew it would be perfect. I made a few minor changes like sponging the edges and I needed to use a larger label so my sentiment would fit and ribbon instead of twine.
These are my girls at the football game. They did a couple cheers and a dance before the varsity football game. It was so cute!
Supplies: PTI Leaf Prints, SU pumpkin pie and Cajun craze ink, Ivory and Cajun Craze CS, PTI wood grain impression plate, SU choc chip ribbon, Label ? nestablities.

When it comes to stamping I have lots of favorite things like polka dot and striped paper, flowers, and scallops! I love scalloped edges! I have way to many scallop border punches, but they are all a little different. I love this large punch from EK success. The paper is from SEI! I love to get SEI paper packs because I know for all the paper inside will work well together. I hope you like my use of scallops!

Another Chicago photo!

My awesome friend, Kriss took me to the Kid Rock & Bon Jovi concert when we were in Chicago. It was awesome! I thought it was terribly exciting just to be in the Bears stadium. It is huge and I love NFL football and have only been to one NFL game in my life. (Close does count in this case :-) But back to the concert, Robert (Kriss's brother) hired a limo to take us downtown to the concert. We had an awesome time!!!

Now to some stamping, just a quick summer card to share. I love blue and yellow and this flower set from papertrey.
Supplies: Beautiful Blooms II PTI, Sentiment from Hero Arts, SU ink and CS- Daffodil Delight and Marina Mist, Colorbox white, Stickles pearl-yellow, and ribbon SU, Scallop Die from SU.

Happy Birthday to me!

July 24th is my birthday so I thought I would share a birthday card. This is inspired by a card I saw as I walked past the card section at Target. I loved all the different patterns on the candles. The pattern paper is from an SEI stack pack that I picked up at a recent scrapbook show in Des Moines. I love it! The candle flame is from Round and Round from Papertrey....it is supposed to be a leaf. What do you think? The flame is stamped with Versa Mark and then embossed with iridescent ice embossing powder. I really had a hard time trying to match my CS with the colors in the pack. Is it too much Choc Chip???

My birthday was low key, we had to take a tree down that was struck by lightening a year ago so I spent most of my birthday picking up sticks. Then in the evening my sweet hubby took me out to eat at a fancy fish place in Des Moines, it was wonderful! Hope you had a great weekend too.

Supplies: SEI pattern paper, SU sentiment and Papertrey leaf-Round & Round, SU olive and choc chip CS, EK edge punch.

Taking a break!

Before.....This is what we have been up to and why I haven't posted lately. We are making our front yard beautiful. So this is what it looked like before the landscaping started. We hired a crew to tear everything out and rebuild and they finished last week. Then our job started! We are doing all the planting, mulching, and of course daily watering. We have planted over 100 perennials! WOW! Can I tell you that I am sore all over!
I will post more photos once we are done but there are more plants to the left, right and all around. Cross my fingers that all the plants survive (hence all the watering). Anyhooo, now to my break........

I just love this new stamp. I embossed the flowers (& sentiment) in black and colored them in with ink pads and a blender pen. The background is embossed with a plate from Papertrey, which is one of my new favorite things.
Supplies: Stamps-Hero Art and PTI, Impression Plate - PTI, Ink and Ribbon SU, Sizzix Die Su, CS-Marina Mist and Regal Rose SU.

Anniversary Card for My Parents

My parents anniversary was June 7 and I sent this card to them. I found this beautiful Stampendous (Ranunculus) stamp at Archiver's a few weeks ago. I just think it is so pretty! I only used a fraction of the 4 1/4 * 5 1/2 stamp, I embossed it in black and then used sponge daubers to fill in the roses and leaves. I used nestabilities to cut the circles and the background is from Papertrey. And finally, the sentiment and punch are from Stampin' Up! My mom said they really loved it and I loved playing around with my new stuff!

New Catalog CASE

On page 17 of Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 catalog is a card just like this. I changed the saying, added the ribbon, an extra layer, and used this new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder instead of stamps. I am really pleased with the changes, I think it jazzes up the card a little. The CS is the new Marina Mist and old Certainly Celery (SU used Old Olive). I really love Marina Mist, I think it is my favorite new color that SU has brought in to the color renovation. Love it! Oh and don't you just love this embossing folder, the image is so deep and beautiful! Finally, I have had this bird punch for about 6 months and this is the first time I have used it. How sad! Poor lonely bird. I just needed to be inspired! Thanks to the new catty!

Supplies are all Stampin' Up! Saying is from Occasional Quotes, For all you do (on bird), Ribbon is Black Taffeta, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Two-Step Bird punch, Paper Piercer for birds eye ( just can't have a bird with no eyes)

I love this new Pattern Paper from Stampin Up!

As you well know, I love pattern paper! The new PP from Stampin Up is totally my style. I didn't do much to this card because I wanted the PP to be the main focus! The CS is Daffodil Delight (NEW) & Pumpkin Pie from SU. The new clear sizzlit die is awesome, I stamped the saying first and then put the die on the CS and sent it though my big shot. All nice straight! Love it!
Supplies: Saying from SU, All CS and ribbon SU, and sizzlit from SU.

Father's Day Card

Hello, I hope you are having a wonderful day! I wanted to share with you the Father's Day card I made for our grandpas'. I just love this new embossing folder from Sizzix. It came in a package with some smaller little embossing folders but I am not sure I will ever use them, I was mainly after this one for "manly" cards. I love how all the new embossing folders out on the market emboss so deep now. I took this photo off our new deck. Sorry for the shadows but I love all the sun we have today in Iowa! The border punch for the water is by Fiskars, stamp set from Papertrey, Ink, CS, and brads all from Stampin' Up!

Hero Arts Large Flower

Okay, first off, forgive me for the shadow. I took several photos and this was the best. I love this new Hero Arts Cling "Large Flower." The name kinda makes me laugh, is that the best they could come up with? But, it is the reason why I like it so much, I love how large it is. Anyhoooo. I stamped the flower in black on SU rose red pattern paper and cut it out. The flower did not come with a leaf so I stamped the flower again on SU certainly celery pattern paper and cut off one petal and made it a leaf. What do you think? I think it works! The saying is from Papertrey and is one of my favorites. Make it a great day!

Great new Crate paper!

I found this great paper at Archivers Wednesday and I just couldn't wait to play with it. I wanted the paper to do all the work. It is a thick almost fabric feeling paper and I love it. I say it is new but it might just be new to me...... I used an Martha Stewart edge punch on the bottom with SU Bermuda Bay cardstock. The ribbon and stamp set is also Stampin Up. I really haven't sewed much on cards but my only advice to you is keep white thread in your sewing machine at all times and make sure your card is open and flat before you start sewing. Silly me I sewed my first card shut! AUGH! Have a great weekend!

Let's have tea!

I love the simplicity of this card! I have had this tea set for a while now and haven't done anything with it. The QuicKuts embossing folder is also new for me and I LOVE IT! I have used it a ton lately. Both stamp sets are Papertrey and the pattern paper, ribbon ,and Kraft CS are all from Stampin' Up! Hope you have time for tea today.

Teacher Appreciation!

My twins are in the same classroom and we love their teacher. She is fabulous! I am room Mom and wanted to do something nice for her. So last week was teacher appreciation week and this is what I made for her. The center of the flowers is photos of all 18 students and on the back of their flower the kids signed their name and I wrote what their favorite thing about Mrs. Upah is. Oh, and of course, Hersey chocolates on the bottom that they kids signed too. She loved it!

I used Stampin' Up! Bride and Groom paper, Papertrey's Big Bold wishes stamp set, satin ribbon and flower from SU and finally black pearls from ??.

I finally did it!

Oh my gosh! I have been talking about this for a while! I am so happy with the way it turned out. I put these vinyl images up on the girls wall and they love it. I used both Cricut and Stampin' Up vinyl, and George Basic and Walk in My Garden cartridge (Cricut). The comforter on my daughters bed was from Target and was my inspiration. It feels good to check something major off my "To do" list.

Papertrey Anniversary Challenge

I just love these colors together. I am sure they have been done many times over but I was inspired by Jay Leno's stage. I hope when he goes back to Late Night he keeps that stage. I love it. Anyway off to stamping, I wanted to join the Papertrey's challenge because I love a challenge and I LOVE the prize even more! Cross my fingers! The challenge was emboss resist and it is one of my favorites. It is very subtle but I embossed the flowers in clear first and then went over the top of them with Creamy Caramel and then white. Inspired by a baby dress!

Dawn McVey has featured these flowers on her blog several time and I just love them. I used an old book that I had and layered up 6 scallop circles, put the brad though, and crumpled away. Love how they turn out and how totally cute they are. I used SU retired Kiwi Kiss and Baha Breeze and basic gray for this card. My sister had a polka dot baby dress made out of these colors and I loved it!
SU supplies: Hero Arts stamp set, SU ink and CS- basic gray, kiwi kiss, baha breeze, very vanilla, Su border punch, SU scallop punch and brad, Sizzix Sizzlit die for leaf.

New Hero Arts Stamp

I love this new Hero Arts Stamp. I was waiting in line at Archivers and it called to me! I just stamped it in Choc. Chip and then used markers to highlight the petals. I can't wait to emboss this image, I think it will be beautiful! I took this photo in my newly remodeled kitchen, the title back splash took forever to find. I love it!

Supplies: Hero Art stamp set and Thank you from PTI Giga guidelines, Su ribbon, SU Pink Pirouette, celery, and white CS, SU choc. chip ink, and MS border punch.

Ahhh, Winter in Iowa

Isn't this beautiful! This is what happens when fog freezes, at least that is what the weather man said. I think it is one of the most beautiful parts of winter (and I am NOT a fan of winter).
This is the view from our drive way. I took this just after the girls got on the bus yesterday morning.
And this is (below) the photo today. Oh, what a difference a day makes. We have been getting freezing rain all day. At least a quarter inch of ice is every where. We lost power for 2 1/2hrs and I consider that a blessing, it could have been so much longer!

Okay, and now to some stamping.....I was inspired by Dawn' McVey's card for this one. The rhinestones in the center & the ribbon are a light green even though it didn't show up in the photo. I needed something bright because I can't remember the last time I have seen the sun here in Iowa......

Supplies: PTI Giga Guide Lines, SU ink - Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo (CS too), Pretty in Pink & Sale a Bration border punch, SU Celery Ribbon, rhinestones, dimensional.
