Taylored Expressions Design Dangles

I am so very excited to share the earrings I created with the new Taylored Expression Designer Dangles Dies. 

I have totally fallen for the new Pinch Me Dies. They are so fun and add just a little something extra to the faux leather, not to mention how on-trend they are. 

If you love graphic designs the Modern Mix & Match die are perfect for you. I have teenage girls and they both loved them. 

The new designer felt in Leopard is perfect for the upcoming winter season. 

Buffalo Plaid is so very popular right now and I love the 4 new colors Taylored Expressions added. I made tons of plaid earrings, so much fun! 

Check out the Go Round dies, I added a Lotus flower charm that I picked it up at a bead store last year.

 I love all three of the Designer Dangles dies TE released last week but Shape Shifter is by far my favorite. These embossed earrings are my new favs. I just love the shape of these dies.

Taylored Expressions New Designer Dangles Dies

I had so much fun playing with the 3 new die sets and new faux leather sets.

I used TE embossing powder (gold & silver) to create these fun earrings. The Bigger the Better dies were used to make the pink and teal earrings along with TE Big Bold Butterfly stamp. 

I used the Shape Shifter dies to make the dark purple/silver and fuchsia/gold earrings. 

I have two crafty passions in my life- stamping and beading and these dies

bring them both together for me. 

 I am in love with all the new colors of faux leather.

The basic earrings laying on the flower are probably my favorite. I wear them with everything, they are made with the Shape Shifter dies and Craft Leather - Weave.

TE Craft Kit: Designer Dangles

I just finished designing some projects for Taylored Expressions new Designer Dangle: TE Craft Kit and it was so much fun.

I love stamping but I also love making simple jewelry just as much, so this kit was perfect for me! And it is being release just in time for gift giving this Holiday season.

This first pair is made from just the supplies in the kit. I used the dark gray craft leather and the silver craft leather die cut with the 2 smaller dies in the kit. I love these because of their versatility and simplicity. 

I stepped up the next 2 pair of earring with charms that I purchased at a local scrapbook store (Memory Bound) and from Artbeads.com but charms are available at most any craft store. 

I love these gold Lotus charms with the cork.  I also love that they are small because smaller earrings are my go to most days. 

This next pair has to be my favorite, I just really love the simplicity and the gold and silver combination.  I used some purple tape to mask off a line on the leather. I then took my versa mark pad and pressed it on the craft leather, added gold and embossing powder and heated until it was melted. I die cut after the embossing was cool and that is it. So great! 

So then I had to try Deco Foil (no worries, no minc needed). I used score tape or sticky tape what ever you have, and added it to the craft leather, die cut the earring, peeled of the backing off the tape and press the foil over it, and finally peeled of the foil to reveal the magic. SO COOL!  

(Note: put the dull sided of the foil on the tape, shiny side up.)

I used Teal Deco foil and 1/8" sticky take for these:

 And I used Pewter Foil and 1/2" score tape for these:

 And finally I used Opal Foil and 1/8" score tape for these:

My Favorite Things- Stencils & Stencil Brushes

Just popping in to share a few quick cards I made today. I was in need of a couple Thank you notes and a couple encouragement notes. 

I used Taylored Expressions Herringbone Stencil and Embossing pad. I love to see how inks blend and play together. This color combo is - Guava, Pineapple, and Plum Punch and I applied the ink with Clarity Stencil Brushes. 

Summer School 2018: Ombre

Ombre is such a beautiful look on cards. I love using it with embossing and Stencil Brushes. I embossed the background and used brushes to add color on the panel. I love the look and how it turned out. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Summer School 2018: Rainbow

I love emboss resist! I embossed the MFT Stamp Set- Balloon Strings on a white CS panel and  applied Distress Inks using Stencil Brushes over the top.  I love how bright it turned out. Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Summer School 2018: Visual Triangle

This lesson is full of all my favorite things! I love the visual triangle (I have used this rule for years). I love to place things in groups of 3.  I love stencils and stencil brushes, I used them to create the light gray background. I used another one of my MFT card kits- Plentiful Petals. Summer School 2018- Focal Point

Our girls started back to school this week, so it seems a little funny for me to start "Summer School." It has been fun to play with a technique and use what ever supplies I want. So much fun! Today I pulled out one of my MFT card kits that is all in it's original box, so I dusted it off. I love the flowers in this set, so many possibilities to use with watercolor, colored pencils, or Copics. I started by stamping the flowers in VersaFine Black ink and embossed the flowers on a white card panel. I used the coordinating die to cut out the focal flower and pop it up with fun foam.

Summer School 2018- Monochromatic

WOW! Once again it has been a while since my last post. I love to think/dream that life is going to slow down......I am at the age that I know that is NOT going to happen.

I love the MFT Summer School and I love to watch stamping videos. Thank you MFT for the inspiration! I used the new MFT Happy Birthday Block and Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings. I am obsessed with stencil brushes, I used them on a white panel to blend Summer Splash, Blue Raspberry, and Tropical Teal. I then cut the panel with the Happy Birthday Block die and popped it up on my card base. Finally, I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

I hope you enjoy the MFT Summer School and find some inspiration, too.

My Favorite Things- Clarity Stencil Brushes

I have always wanted to be talented enough to make beautiful airbrushed backgrounds. Unfortunately, I can not....until these brushes came along.

 These amazing brushes make ink blending effortless. 

All you have to get them in your hands, load one up with ink, give it one quick swipe on scratch paper and begin swiping on your project. You will be hooked! Trust me!

Candle birthday card- I laid down candle mask and inked over the top. I removed the mask and stamped TE Graphic Greetings Birthday. One of those, "how did you do that?" cards. 

The balloon and Prairie Grass card are both done after embossing with TE embossing folders- Prairie & Confetti. Start with a very light hand when adding ink to the embossed image. The raised area really grab the ink quickly!

PTI -Clothing as inspiration Challenge

I am so ready for Spring and I just had to do something with my PTI floral stamps. Today the PTI challenge was to find an outfit that inspired me to make a card. I found this:

I just love the colors and the back accents in the top. You can find more information about this challenge and PTI's anniversary celebration here.

I used PTI Brushed Blossom stamp set and matching die. The ink colors are: Simply Chartreuse, Spring Moss, Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst,  and a Moment Color Lilac Posies. 

PTI Design Team Challenge

Papertrey is celebrating their 9th Anniversary, and challenges always give me a reason to stamp. I picked this inspiration:

I used PTI Bold Blossoms Watercolor Sheets and Wet Paint Dies. I colored in the blossoms with Zig watercolor pens and a wet brush. I also used Raindrops from Papertrey to scatter around my card. The  entire card front is popped up with white fun foam. I hope you enjoy the release!

Watercolor and Emboss Resist

I love watercolor and I love embossing....put the to together and I am a happy stamper! I embossed the Taylored Expressions Wispy Wishes with white embossing powder on WC paper. I then used Tim Holtz distress ink to ink up a rectangle acrylic block, spritzed the block, and the watercolor paper, and applied the block to the WC panel. I love the results, hope you do to. Watercolor card class

I love this new Etched Flower background from My Favorite Things.  When I first saw it I thought it would be beautiful embossed and watercolored to create a background. First I embossed the background with Gold (I also LOVE gold- but what girl doesn't ;) and then I took 2 blue and 2 green Zig Clean Brush pens and scribbled over the top, I then sprayed the entire piece down with water to blend the colors, and let it dry. I just loved the outcome so I tried to not to cover it up too much with a sentiment.  I used the Blueprints 13 die to cut the background, Fishtail Flag Stax to cut the vellum, and Blueprints 24 to cut the circle for the sentiment. I know the photo doesn't look like it but I used a strip of gold CS down the side of the Flag. Finally, the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp is embossed in gold. 

#2 Superstar Card Contest.

 

My Favorite Things is having a Superstar Card Contest.  I love playing along for this contest because there are no restrictions, no layouts, no color combos- Just create! It is a great reason to use all these stamps and dies that I just 'have to have.' 

I did a color blend in the background first to give the shaker card some color. I made this card several months back for a young lady turning 13 and my twins LOVED it! My girls turn 12 in December so this will be for one of them.

Superstar Card Contest

 

I loved this challenge because I could sit down and play around with card design and tools with no limits. I LOVE ink blending and stencils so I did both! I used the MFT abstract stencil and the Stitched Horizontal stripe die to make the background. As my family will tell you, I am love daisies so I cut MFT Plentiful Petals as a focal point on my card. I really enjoyed the process of making this card and I hope you like it!
