Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #179

I have done this technique in the past and I love it! Watch it here! I love having one more use for those kinda pricey cover plates (but PTI has the best price in the industry - HANDS DOWN!) I really have a clean and simple style and I am making this year (my year starts with the school year, not January 1) the year to really develop that. I find that I try to follow the crowd and get into all the new fads and I end up with a lousy card, that I really didn't enjoy making in the first place. Lets see if I can do it! Hope you like my first card of my 'new' year resolution!

  1. That is so striking! Love your color combo.

  2. Hey Susan!! I love the softness of your card. I need that cover plate that you used. Such a pretty card. Nicely done.

  3. Gorgeous color! Love the pops of black :)

  4. Love it! Great colors and layout!
I too am pinning down my style (also C & S or Clean & Graphic) so I'm starting to make better buying choices too!

Clean & Simple Die-cutting

I really enjoyed watching Kristina's video today. I love any reason to pull out my Tim Holtz distress tool (Festive Berries, Worn Lipstick, & Spun Sugar ink). I used a die from MFT called duo bracket die and a stamp set from SU (I think it is a hostess set).  I used a paint brush and my TH ink pads to watercolor the flower.   I like the soft look of this card. I plan to make few more while I have all the supplies out. Sorry for the dark photo, I finished after the sunset here in Iowa.

Papertrey Inc- Make It Monday #12: Line Frame 101

I had so much fun with this challenge! I was able to use a few of my favorite things (again)- PTI Distressed Dots PP, adhesive black pearls, and Beautiful Blooms II #3 dies. Besides, I love the line frame look and have made cards in the past with this technique.

I am really happy with how these cards turned out. The sayings are from various PTI sets and the stem is from Spiral Bouquet. The flowers are cut out of the white layer to show though to the PP in the second later. Finally, I used (a lot of) foam tape between the layers to give the card some dimension.

Hope you enjoy all the bright Spring colors! Have a fabulous weekend!

Supplies: Stem & Saying- Spiral Bouquet, Other Sayings from Signature Greetings, Communique Curves Sentiments. Distressed Dots PP, colors-Pure Poppy, Harvest Gold, Ripe Avocado, Scarlet Jewel, Flat back adhesive pearls (unknown), Beautiful Blooms II #3 Dies.

Taylored Expressions Design Dangles

I am so very excited to share the earrings I created with the new Taylored Expression Designer Dangles Dies.  I have totally fallen for the new Pinch Me Dies. They are so fun and add just a little something extra to the faux leather, not to mention how on-trend they are.  If you love graphic designs the Modern Mix & Match die are perfect for you. I have teenage girls and they both loved them.
The new designer felt in Leopard is perfect for the upcoming winter season.  Buffalo Plaid is so very popular right now and I love the 4 new colors Taylored Expressions added. I made tons of plaid earrings, so much fun!  Check out the Go Round dies, I added a Lotus flower charm that I picked it up at a bead store last year.  Finally, if you are giving these earrings as gifts this year the Designer Dangles- Earring Card is a must have.  I hope you grab some of these dies and faux leather and start creating.  -Susan
