CFC67: Create a Clean And Simple project that features banners or flags

Oh WOW! This was fun! I made a similar card to this last weekend for a Papertrey Inc challenge.
And Joyce left a comment for me saying I needed to share it on the CAS-ual Friday's site. I had never heard of it. So, I thought I wanted to re-make my card using what ever I wanted. Many of the challenges I do are for blogs hosted by specific companies and I try to use their products. But for this challenge, I can use what ever I want from any company I want. SO FUN! I love the colors in this card and I can't wait to try more challenges from CAS-ual Fridays.  Thank you Joyce!

Supplies (from all kinds of companies ;-) MME pattern paper, Sentiment from Technique Tuesdays, Bkg from Hero Arts, CS and Ink from Papertrey. Banner die from Papertrey Inc.

Make It Monday #80: Making Garland & CFC67

I watched Ashley's video
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2012/08/make-it-monday-80-1.html
first thing Monday morning and right away I had the idea to use letters on my banner but wasn't sure just how. Then at 2:30am today, when I trying to sleep. Trying! This came to me. I did use Ashley's advice and sandwiched the letters on my floss. Let me explain if you haven't watched the video yet. She said to cut all your letters twice and 'sandwich' your floss (or whatever you are using) between the two layers. I used white cardstock as my backing to the polka dot letters but before I cut them, I covered the white cardstock with 1 inch score tape which made the 'sandwich' so easy to assemble.  I hope you like my card and have a great week!

Supplies are all PTI: Mat Stack dies 5 & 4, Polka Dot Impression Plate, Think Big Favorites (Birthday), Block Alphabet Die, Bracket is from Half & Half Stamp set, floss,  Hawaiian Shores Ink and CS, Simply Chartreuse Ink, 1 inch score tape.

Make It Monday #79: Fabric Die Cuts

I love fabric and I have a lot of it but I never seem to use it. So, this is a great challenge for me & a good reminder to use my fabric more often! I used the build a banner die to make the side panel from some fabric I bought 2 weeks ago at JoAnn's.

All supplies PTI: Tin Types Bkg & Signature Greetings stamps, Raspberry Fizz buttons, Banner Builder dies.

August 2012 Blog Hop

This is Papertrey Ink's August blog hop inspiration. I LOVE IT! So much inspiration! That denim blue flower is my favorite part! That blue is absolutely my favorite color right now.  Here is what I came up with:

I made the flower with some burlap type material, the next layer is brown PTI felt, and the last layer is crumpled up Enchanted Evening CS all but from the PTI beautiful Blooms dies. I don't know if you can tell but the leaves are embossed with the PTI woodgrain impression plate. The background herringbone background is embossed with clear EP. One last thing to mention, I only used the lower half of the Happy Day stamp on the label. I hope you like it.

Make It Monday #76: Double-time Bleach Stamping

I have stamped with bleach in the past but I have never stamped over the bleached area before. I used a layout from Dawn's McVey's Stamp-A-Faire card set. I made my own stamp with the Happy Trails dragonfly die and fun foam, and then stamped it in bleach. And finally, I stamped the dragonfly detail in Chocolate over the top.

Supplies: All PTI unless noted, Happy Trails Stamp and die, Half and Half Stamp and die, Dotty Biscotti PP, Picnic Plaid Impression Plate, Hawaiian Shores & Kraft CS.

Stamp-a-faire Camp Card Set Challenge

These cards are so adorable! I basically copied Jessica Witty's cards, except that I changed the colors a little and put the set of 4 cards together in a little simpler packaging. I used a belly band to go around the glassine bag. Love, love this technique and I will try it again soon.

Supplies: Beautiful Butterflies and dies, PTI  Ink- Royal Velvet, Simply Chartreuse, Winter Wisteria, Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise, Hawaiian Shores.

Stamp-a-faire Ribbon Techniques Challenge

THANK YOU DAWN! Dawn's video has greatly improved my bows! Over the Stamp-a-Faire weekend, I made many of Dawn's bows and I love the way they turn out so fluffy and cute. I am currently in LOVE with this layout and have used it many times recently. Finally, Dawn's tips in her embellishments video about PP was also helpful to me.  I used those tips to create this card and then added her bow technique down the side.

Supplies all PTI unless noted: Think Big Favorites Stamp set, Friends till the End PP, Bitty Dots PP, Raspberry Fizz PP, Black Twill, and pearls (unknown).

Stamp-A-Faire Morning Make and Take

What a beautiful make and take from Nicole to kick off the weekend. I love the colors in this card! I stamped at my friend's house and she let me use her set (thank you Kriss). This set is so beautiful! I copied Nicole's card 100% and plan to make more versions.

Stamp-A-Faire Limited Supply Challenge

I love how this turned out-but this stamp set is so BEAUTIFUL (hence the name). It would be hard to make this set look bad ;-) I used Winter Wisteria, Summer Sunrise, and Royal Velvet (CS too) ink from PTI. The white CS is one piece. I just added  1/8' CS strips above and below the sentiment (Think Big Favorites #12). Hope you like it. It is hot in Iowa again today but the sunshine makes for great camera shots.

Stamp-a-faire Tie-Dye Techniques #2

So, I have twin daughters and one likes pink and one likes purple so I tried again with Copic V17, BG18, & BG13, and this is the front side this time. LOVE this idea and will play with it again soon!

Supplies: Copics, Rubbing Alcohol, Royal Velvet CS PTI, Wonderful Words Additions PTI, Corner Chomper, SU black grosgrain.

Stamp-a-faire Tie-Dye Techniques

My Favorite technique of the weekend. I love my copics but I really don't give them much love, they are very lonely most of the time. I used Nicole's colors but I liked the 'back' side of my paper better than the front, so that is what you see. Crazy, huh?!

Supplies: Copics, Rubbing Alcohol, Raspberry Fizz CS PTI, Wonderful Words Additions PTI, Corner Chomper, SU black grosgrain.

Make It Monday #74: Stamping on Texture

I have never tried this technique before. I am always up for trying something new.  Here is the link:
My brother and his wife are celebrating their 25th Anniversary this weekend so I used this technique to make a card for them. I made the background with the Text Style bkg and the Giga Guide Lines 1 Impressions plate. The sentiment is from 2 different stamp sets- Congrats all the way and Celebrations. The sentiment was inspired by day 5 of the Stretch your stamps online class, and so was the layout. I LOVE online card classes!!! I down load them and watch them when I am on the treadmill -great motivation ;-)

Supplies all PTI unless noted: stamp sets- Congrats all the Way, Celebrations, Text Style bkg, Giga Guide Lines 1 IP, SU taffeta ivory ribbon, Pattern Paper unknown, corner chomper, SU pearls, Kraft and Chocolate Ink.

Make It Monday #73: Stamping on Patterned Paper

This is the first time I put ink on this set. I love it! The sentiments in it are so very cute! The challenge was to stamp directly on pattern paper and I think it goes perfect with the Hello Sunshine set. We are ROASTING right now in the Midwest and I would love to send it some where else ;-) The heat index is 105 today, down from the 110 we had yesterday.

June 2012 Blog Hop

I am having tons of Internet problems tonight so I will have to come back tomorrow with my supplies list. Sorry! I love the colors in this challenge. I don't have New Leaf so I used Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Lemon Tart and Gray(?). The flower is the saddle stitched ribbon pulled into a flower. And the same thing for the ruffle, I just pulled the white stitch on the ribbon to make a ruffle. I hope you like it!

Good Morning! Wow thanks for the nice comments already! Supplies: Label Basics stamp and dies, Everyday Classics stamp, Lemon Tart saddle stitched ribbon, rhinestones, pop dots, & CS colors listed above.

Teacher Appreciation Week

This week is teacher appreciation week and yesterday we brought these into the school for my twins teachers.
I found the watering cans at Target's Dollar spot ($2.50 each). The teachers loved them!  Oh, and I used a #2 pencil to stick the note card in the pots. The card says, "It is not so much what is poured into a student, but what is planted by the Teacher that really counts."

Supplies: PTI Teachers Apple stamp set and baker's twine.

Make It Monday #64: Using Color Inspiration (2nd)

I had another idea in my head and I like this one the best. I followed Nicole's rule of 3 all the way with this one. Again, I don't have Fine Linen so I used Kraft instead. I wanted the banner to look like it was tied between the two trees, hopefully it looks that way to you ;-) Love that little bird!

All Supplies PTI unless noted: All CS and Ink from above + Kraft, Trendy Trees Stamp and Dies, Chocolate Twine and Ink, PP also PTI, Die from Taylored Expressions.

Make It Monday #64: Using Color Inspiration

I finally broke into my Trendy Trees from PTI today to try my hand at the Make It Monday Color challenge. I don't have Fine Linen so I substituted chocolate. I did follow Nicole's rule of three (except with the Chocolate) and I think the best part of that rule is that it pushes me to add more spice to my creations. It is hard to see but in the background I added flowers with versa mark to my color blocked background. I like how simple this card is but I like my second post best.

Supplies: All PTI unless noted, ink and CS from the above list plus chocolate, Versa Mark, Beautiful Blooms II, Trendy Trees, Tri flower punch from Stampin Up, Think Big Favorite, rhinestones.

I am in love with all the blooming colors in my yard right now and this challenge looks just like it. I darken up the This and That PP from Echo Park with Vintage Photo distress ink from Tim Holtz. The Lace Bouquet stamp set from Papertrey was clear embossed on Hawaiian Shores CS and I distress that too. I hope you have a great week!

March 2012 Blog Hop

Below is the inspiration from PTI for their March Blog Hop. I Love these colors! I am blond and I can NOT wear yellow anything (wish I could), it totally washes me out, so it was fun to stamp with yellow today. I was drawn to the yellow polka dots and the aqua satin in the photo. I used my new Medallions Bkg to make the background. On the top half of the card, I stamped the same colors but just stamped off to make it lighter.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend (I DID!).

Supplies: all PTI unless noted, Hawaiian Shores Ink, CS, & Ribbon and SU Daffodil Delight Ink & CS, Medallions Bkg, Floral Frenzy Stamp Set, Scallop die, Copic Marker for rhinestone.

Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry 101

I am taking Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry 101 online class, mainly because I am in love with on line classes. I love that I can take them from the comfort of my couch ;-) when I have time. But, I didn't know if Tim Holtz's style was for me and my simple/clean style.....but after today I think I might be falling for it. This technique is called- Blend, Spritz & Flick. Use the foam blending tool to blend colors and then flick water over top to make a cool look.

My niece's High school Basketball team made it to the State playoffs. I thought an interactive card would be perfect for her!

The challenge was to make an interactive card. A card for a teenager......a little bit of it's own challenge for me. I just kept it simple and used some bright colors. I can't wait to watch her play on Tuesday. GO SARAH!

Papertrey Inc Make It Monday #53

This make it Monday really taught me a lot this week. And I jumped right over to ebay and bought that slot punch from Making Memories. I had never seen that- What a cool tool!

I needed a wedding card for a lady at my church. I hope she likes it! I used the PTI coasters, Baja Breeze reinker from Stampin Up! and perfect pearls spritzer. Oh, the one thing I learned that wasn't on the video, is that if the color looks splotchy or uneven on the coaster, it will even out as it dries. I panicked for a minute.....

Supplies: PTI dies-banner, limitless layer circles and Mat stack 3, PTI stamps-Happy Trails and Celebrations, Polka Dot Basics Impression Plate.

Papertrey Anniversary Day 7

Today the challenge from PTI is to make a card with hearts. I know it is a simple card but I did that because the red paper is actually sparkly in person- it kind of steals the show. The sparkly red paper is actually on the inside edge of the card. I hope you have a happy Valentine's Day!

Supplies: Memory Box heart die, Happy Day stamp set (which my mom gave me for Christmas, Thanks Mom!), Glitter paper SU.

Papertrey Anniversary Day 5

Okay, where to start today- I LOVE PINTEREST! Papertrey announced today that they would be posting boards on pinterest. So, I have an account but have not taken the plunge because well........I just don't have the time. And from what I have heard you can spend soooo much time on pinterest. One person said "its fantasy football for girls," oh are they right but, I am a fantasy football girl too, man am I in trouble (my household that is)! So, I spent 3 hrs on pinterest today checking it all out and setting things up and I am HOOKED! Thanks, I think??!!
Anyhoo, back to PTI's anniversary, today's challenge was to take a pinned idea from one of the designers boards and create a card. I picked Lisa Johnson
http://www.poppypaperie.typepad.com/
and this is the card I came up with. I embossed the flowers (& sentiment) with black EP and then cut them out with the matching dies (backwards I know but it works best for me). The middle flower is popped up a little. Have a great night!

Supplies: Dots and Striped PP Echo Park, Delightful Dahlia and matching die PTI, Script Sentiments PTI, rhinestones PTI.

This card is for PTI Make it Monday challenge. Here is the link
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2012/01/make-it-monday-50-shaker-card.html
Pretty much and 'old school' card as far as the layout goes. I have had these little sprinkles in my stash forever! I think a dear friend (Kriss) gave them to me long ago! And I totally stumbled across the perfect pattern paper (discontinued SU). My 8 year old said, "I LOVE IT! Make me one please!" Hope you like it, too.

Supplies: Garden Variety PTI, SS Butterfly die PTI, PP Discontinued SU, Nesties, SU celery satin ribbon.

PTI January 2012 Blog Hop

So the challenge this month is to revisit a card you made in 2012 that you liked and remake it. I made this card in July 2011 and it is still one of my favorites (of course I used my favorite PTI set ever). I changed it using an idea from Day 11 of the Clean & Simple card class. The card was made by Maile Belles, she made a 1 layer card with a different layout but I loved how she colored the daisies.

I really like this one too. I hope you do too. Hope you have a great night~

Supplies: Friends til the End PTI, copic makers, pop up dots, twine from PTI, rhinestones unknown.

Teeny Card Fun

I hope you joined me this week for the Taylored Expressions Facebook Live, if not here is the link  https://www.facebook.com/tayloredexpres...
