Eagle Watching & Make It Mondays #8

Make It Monday #8: Ink Blending Techniques These challenges are great for my stamping supplies. I used my Year of Flowers:Violet for the first time. I love this set but for some reason, it hasn't seen ink until today. I started with white CS and blended the color on starting with the yellow. I used PTI's Lavender Moon and Plum Pudding and finally SU Eggplant for the darkest color and to stamp the violet image. I hope you like it. Other Supplies all PTI: Lemon Tart Ribbon, Tin Types Impressions Plate.

Okay, so I have to tell you about my current addiction. My mother started this, so she is to blame ;-) In Decorah, Iowa they have a camera set up over an Eagle's nest. It is so amazing to see these two eagles up close, and best of all the eggs (3 of them) should hatch in the next week or so. You gotta check it out. http://www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles

Escape from Painting!

So, it is Monday and I am painting doors today, 8 to be exact. UGH! I really hate painting but these doors have been unfinished since last August. So, it really is high time I got them done. I am finished with the primer and thought I would take a quick break. My girls made these glasses last week during Spring Break. We found them in the unfinished wood area at Michael's. I thought they did such a great job and how cute do my girls look in them. Adorable!
And something not so fun, my hubby asked me for a card for a colleague that lost his dog. That makes two challenges for me - manly and pet sympathy. My hubby was happy with how it came out. The PP, ribbon and die are all from SU, and the pet sympathy set is from PTI.

Have a great Monday- back to painting :-(

Make it Monday #7: Adding Color to Non-Neutral CS

So, at least with these PTI challenges, I post once a week for sure ;-) This was a great challenge for me because I have all these copic markers just sitting on my shelf. (The shelf my dear friend, Kriss gave me for Christmas-TX!) I think using my copics on colored CS makes it easier for me. It just seems more forgiving. And besides using my copics, I was able to use my favorite color combos, my favorite stamp set, and my favorite technique - embossing. So fun to play along!

Supplies: all PTI unless otherwise noted-Friends' Till the End, BG11 BG13 BG18 Copics, Aqua Mist, Dark Chocolate, White, Embossing Powder and Versa Mark, White Floss, Rhinestones.

Make it Monday #6: Impression Plates Tricks #1

Hello, I hope you all have had a fabulous Spring break! We stayed near home and did a ton of fun things locally. It was fabulous! So, this is why I am posting my card so late. My inspiration for my card today comes from all the beautiful home decor items I have seen made with blue and white. I am in love with it but it doesn't go with anything in my home. So, I thought I would try it on a card. Papertrey's challenge was to use an impression plate on a portion of a card. I love the Enchanted Evening and white with a hit of lemon tart buttons. But, do you think it is too simple? Have a great week!
Supplies: all PTI unless noted Dot Spot and Big & Bold Wishes, Sunshine Impressions Plate, Enchanted Eventing CS & buttons, lemon tart buttons, white embossing powder & versamark.

Make it Monday #5: Distressing Edges

I used the edge of my scissors to distress the edge of the chocolate mat and the edges of the star and moon. I was in need of a some baby cards so here is what I came up with. I am happy with the results and I need to copy these and make a couple more just for my emergency card stash. The moon was made with my nestabilitie large circles.
Supplies : baby boy card - all PTI Inside and Out: Baby and Happy Spots pattern paper, aqua mist cs, and Dark Chocolate ribbon and cs, and nestabilities rectangle dies.

Supplies: Canvas Corp pattern paper, SU star punch, the rest is the same as above.

Papertrey Ink- Make it Monday Challenge #4

Okay so it is not Monday, but the challenge runs all week. I have been super busy this week. My daughter has been home sick all week, therefore so have I. It really puts me in a funk to be stuck at home all week. So, stamping is a bright spot for me. The challenge was to use fun foam. It can be used as an accent for the card or to make a stamp out of. I used it both ways. My nephew turns 2 this year so I thought I would make him a card.
I had very little fun foam to pick from beings my girls have used most of it up. I just barely had enough for the stamp and one for the accent. I hope you like how it turned out. Have a fun weekend!
Supplies all PTI unless noted: Birthday Basics stamp set, By the Numbers die collection, Boxy Banner Die and Fillable Frames #10, Distressed Dots PP.

Thinking of Spring!

Today is a beautiful day in Iowa and I just had to share a cherry Spring card with you. I also have to thank my friend Jennifer for bringing the stamp set Fabulous Phrases to our last Stampin' Up! meeting. I love it! I had totally over looked this set in the catalog and the fact that it is sold for clear block mounting is AWESOME! I used the PP from Sale-A-Bration - Ice Cream Parlor and the Fun Flowers die from the Occasions Mini. The main colors are Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Pumpkin Pie. Hope you have a cheery warm day.
